My journey into tech has been anything but linear. With a degree and scholarship in Information Systems and Sociology from Singapore Management University, I initially built a career in tech sales, working for global leaders like HubSpot, Microsoft, and Sony. For a while, I thought programming wasn’t for me, but my passion for creating, designing, and coding never faded. This year, I boldly decided to pivot into front-end development.
Reconnecting with this passion has been transformative, and it finally felt right. I dedicate countless hours daily to self-learning, constantly pushing myself to improve. The challenges—and occasional frustrations—of learning something new excite me, leading me to complete the SheCodes Front-End Certification in just three months (compared to the usual average of eight). Since then, I’ve continued to hone my skills in JavaScript and React, showcasing my projects on GitHub.
My diverse background uniquely positions me as a developer who understands both the technical and human aspects of technology. My experience in sales has sharpened my ability to communicate effectively, clarify requirements, and make informed decisions—skills essential in front-end development. I approach each project with clarity, a strong work ethic, and an open mind. No challenge feels too daunting; I always tackle challenges through my structured approach and by breaking them down into smaller tasks.
Beyond coding, I am an artist and an event producer. I’ve organized and curated fantasy world raves across Southeast Asia, particularly in Singapore, that have earned me several fellowships and publication mentions. I am also deeply passionate about spirituality, health, and productivity—continually seeking personal and professional growth. I’m a naturally curious person, and I believe that every new experience adds to my toolkit as a developer and as a creative.
I am now seeking opportunities to work remotely in a collaborative and open team environment that allows me to constantly learn, grow, and be inspired! I thrive best in environments where I can learn from others and share my unique insights.
